Lovely Sunday roast with fresh well cooked vegetables. Good size portions, & well presented.

One word - superb!Joined our children and grandchildren for a family gathering. Made to feel extremely welcome. Food was excellent and they catered for the little ones brilliantly. Good portions and everyone extremely happy with their meal. The bar staff served my beer just as I wanted it so many thanks.Definitely going again as we passed by on our narrowboat.

Absolutely amazing. Went for lunch and the food was absolutely amazing, the portions are big and worth the money! The staff were extremely kind and welcoming and were helpful. Our food was served very quickly too.The tables and restaurant is very clean too. The atmosphere is good. Highly recommend!

We had a lovely evening drink by the river in the sunshine. The staff where polite and the atmosphere was nice and chilled. The prices are reasonable and we may visit again for food.

I’d heard good things about this place, and came to find that it’s actually a disappointment. When we got there, the place was a mess outside - glasses, plates, menus, and rubbish left everywhere. At first I thought the staff must be busy, but when we came inside it was extremely quiet and both the staff members working were just stood around talking. In fact, the whole time we were there (over an hour) no one went to clear the outside area. On top of this, despite it being extremely quiet, the food took ages to arrive, although it was nice when it did eventually come. Unfortunately our cutlery bay was dirty and covered in old salt and crumbs. Overall, I would say we were quite disappointed with our visit and wouldn’t visit again.

Made by it's location, however anywhere you go in Saltaire is going to be a stunning place to be. Beautiful vista of the cricket picture and gardens and for the voyeur of life a beautiful place to have a solid pint.

We used the private terrace for our function on Saturday night and it was brilliant. We were well looked after by Thomas and the team. Hopefully we will be back next year!

Good value, big portions, should have ordered the smaller plates at £10. Nice seating indoors and outdoors. Very hip crowd, we felt so unfashionable among the crowds. Dog friendly.

Heerlijk Eend gegeten. Eend is niet makkelijk te maken maar de kok heeft er duidelijk verstand van. Vriendelijk personeel in de bediening.

Visited with family for tea. Booked ahead of time. Got drinks straight away but ordered food took just under an hour to come even though there were only 3 other families eating. Food was good, we all enjoyed what we had.

With the riverside location of The Boathouse, alongside its location in a trendy part of Saltaire, I had high hopes for this place, which sadly weren’t met in terms of the atmosphere and food. I had pie, my partner scampi and my daughter sausage and mash - all which were verging on below average for the high price tag. The sausage was of a lesser quality than you’d find in your local chippy. I got a grand total of 9 chips with my pie (ignoring the fact I actually asked for mash). Great location for a pint by the river, but sadly not one I’ll be returning to for food.

Lovely little pub down on the waterside. Nice views across to the park. Very family friendly, with a decent amount of outdoor seating. Good range of beers.

What a gem. After days of a holiday high carbon diet it was good to have a chicken caesar salad & a very good one; finely shredded lettuce, really crispy croutons & generous amount of grilled chicken. My husband's risotto was also v good and they also do good Bloody Marys. Lovely staff, great view, such a lovely location. HUGE bonus is the background music at a perfect volume; ie in the background

They have a wide range of gluten free options and the best bit is they have a dedicated gluten free fryer.

Pictures show a more recent visit Sunday lunch at The Boathouse 15th February.Hubby had steak & ale pie, I had belly pork roast dinner around £20 each meal, was very good, highly recommend.Previous visit to The Boathouse from summer 2024Had loaded fries with cheese £5, I added chilli for an extra £1. Glass of soda water £1.Large portion very nice only downside was it was a bit dry even with the chilli on top.

The Boathouse Inn is brilliantly located just up the road from Saltaire, right next to the Leeds & Liverpool Canal. The setting is picturesque and highly relaxing, especially when sitting outside.It offers a great pub experience with a wide selection of drinks and excellent food options. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it a perfect spot to break a canal walk or enjoy a relaxing afternoon by the water.Highly recommended for the lovely location and solid pub quality!

We went for a roast dinner. It was quite expensive but the food was pretty tasty. The only issue was the lack of signposting for the vegetarian options. The main venue has v and ve symbols but not for the roast dinner section. I had to ask what aspects of the roast dinner would be vegetarian (eg. the gravy). We got a side of the sage and onion stuffing balls which didn't mention meat on the menu. When they arrived they had sausage meat or pork in them so I had to send them back. Fortunately my sister checked before I could eat them! When I asked for a refund the staff were a little bit tricky. Just be warned!

What a great place. Food was delicious, staff were lovely and a great location.There was, unfortunately for her, a woman on a blind date with a very boring needy man, we felt sorry for her but hopefully the great food made up for it. We will be back again. The blind date woman possibly not.

Food fantasic,good size portions.My husband had the rib eye steak which was cooked to perfection,i had the salmon again beautifuly cooked.would recommend both dishes.We also finished with deserts,Sticky toffee pud and coconut tart both very very good and would recommend.The staff are fantasic.

The front of house staff were friendly and helpful. The food was really disappointing. When we arrived we were told the only thing unavailable was the soup of the day, which was being made but wouldn't be ready for about an hour (this is at 12.30pm).But then, when we ordered, my choice of enchiladas wasn't available either. So I ordered the butternut squash risotto - but they didn't have any butternut squash. So I had my third choice of sun-dried tomato linguine. Luckily as a vegan that I had that many choices available to me on the menu, but just a shame I didn't get to try something a bit different - which is what had attracted me in the first place!The pasta was fine, nothing special (it wasn't linguine as it said on the menu, but fusilli - doesn't really matter, I guess).My husband had the duck leg - and the meat was completely overcooked and dry.We persevered with dessert, and had churros and lemon meringue pie - both fine... but overall the food was okay, just a bit 'meh'.It was such a shame, as this could be a real gem of a place with this gorgeous setting. Maybe the chef was just having a bad day, but it seems there's a real lack of attention to detail, and really poor stock control!

Great location by the riverside, plenty of outside tables, I bet it's packed in summerLimited to 2 hours parking on the road but free, large bar area and bench seats available in back room, all have riverside views.There were only 2 staff on duty when we went in , the only table free had a lot of empty glasses and plates on, so had to clear it myself, the server behind the bar said she would try but they were rushed off their feet with the lunchtime rushThe food was a bit expensive but we had a freshly baked baguette with beef and gravy, not proper roast beef, 1 slice prepacked, spinach and rocket with a garlic mayo, the skinny fries were amazing, served in a wooden tray, never had food served that way before.The butternut, sage and chilli risotto, was superb with Parmesan shavings, generous portion .Decent pint of Timothy Taylors Landlord bitter, good range of ales available, dog friendly always a bonus.

Been here a few times, and as a vegan it's I've always felt very accommodated for, which is not what I find often. Great location, lovely, lovely staff and the food is delicious, and big portions!

Cosy atmosphere, excellent customer service. Honest and non-judgemental. Very happy to help in answering questions about the food.Very good selection of hot and cold meals on the menu.Important note to be made. Nothing on the menu is for a halal diet although there are vegetarian options.They do serve fish and chips fried in vegetable oil but, they use beer batter for the fish.Large selection of alcoholic drinks but soft drinks, teas and coffees available too.Toilets, male and female also a family one with baby changing facilities.Lovely views of the swans through the big windows, would be even better in the summer.The bar and restaurant is dog friendly as long as the owners keep the dogs on their leads and off the furniture.We enjoyed our visit. It was quiet and cosy to sit and enjoy the atmosphere.

Fabulous, idyllic location but very disappointing food. All three of my party chose baguettes ... all us found the soft white rolls tasteless. My cheese and ham salad version had a piece of ham, a tiny sprinkling of grated cheese a little tasteless tomato and lettuce and a miniscule sliver of onion. The branston pickle was quite tasty though! The chips were tepid and limp. And we had to request having the table wiped three times.

Fantastic location

My wife booked today's Sunday lunch outing to the boat house, having never been before.I am always dubious of trying new places, as I find good places to eat hard to come by. (Being an ex chef, we gave high expectations)So we arrived early, which wasn't a problem as they had a table available. We ordered and very promptly our food arrived. All hot and delicious. Wonderful value for money. I can't recommend highly enough. Well done to the whole team. Next time we are in Saltaire we will be back.

Really lovely place to eat by the river, overlooking the park. Service was very friendly. The food was very average, however, and let down the whole experience.

Felt this was a very average pub and eatery , not a great atmosphere , service was ok, food was ok - presentable and tasty , as the only pub in the village perhaps had a greater expectation.

We called in for a drink yesterday with lots of seating inside and out . A good selection of beers and spirits.Bright open and welcoming.We stood outside to watch the geese and swans but there was plenty of seating for those that wanted it.Clean well maintained bathrooms .We didn't eatIt looked like they could cater for functions too as a birthday party was just leaving when we arrived .Will definitely return.

A calm and pleasant bar and restaurant with a lovely view.

We visited here recently during the week for food and drinks. It was a lovely evening so it was quite busy but we had pre-booked. The Boathouse is set in a lovely area down by the river and near a lovely green open space area. The food we ordered was excellent and the lady serving us was lovely and very customer focused.

We arrived lunchtime minus booking, a table was found, customer service second to none, unsure what to order, chose beef pie and chicken pie. Partner avoids pastry and pies, it was the best chicken pie and shortcrust ever... we will be back.

Love it here. Go often for food and sometimes just for a drink stop.Great in on a sunny day as it look out over the river and park, they open the bifolds up to bring the outside in.Shame it shuts at 9pm for drinks and they stop taking food orders at 7.45 and won't budge if your 5 mins late. Deffo a day time or tea time place.

Beautiful location on the river at Saltaire. Lovely decor and wide range of food and drinks. Excellent prices and the food was very tasty. My Caesar Salad had two very large pieces of chicken. My friend who is coeliac was well catered for. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Water and treats available for dogs too.

We had a really lovely meal here yesterday (Saturday)! The view was lovely and the atmosphere was great. The staff were really friendly and helpful. We had fish, chips, and mushy peas - the portions were huge! Very good for the price, and really delicious, fresh, homemade food. For two fish and chips, a pint and a lemonade, it was just over £40, which was very reasonable for the quality and portion size. We would happily return.

Love this place. Great location, the views are fantastic, menu is really varied and the vegetarian selection is particularly good for a pub. Homemade curries are way better than usual pub curry. Beer and drinks are good. Kids and dogs are welcome. There's no TV. It's really good! The only downside is it closes at 9 pm.

A bunch of us visited here one sunny afternoon and it was ace. Most of us had a roast, which was really well priced. The view out over the river was lovely and the staff were super attentive. Having a drinks menu wouldn't hurt though.

Me and my husband recently had an amazing meal here. We'd definitely recommend fish and chips and the chicken pie, both large portions and you could tell it was all homemade. A special mention to the lady (Alison) who took our order, nothing was too much trouble and she made sure we had a pleasant evening. We have recommended to friends and family and we hope to return soon!

Something for everyone. Comfit duck salad and delicious curries to pub classics, always done very well.

It's a great little place with very good views over the river and roberts park. Not far from saltaire also a good stop if you are travelling by canal boat with easy mooring space and safe for leaving your boat due to the number of people walking on the canal. The beer is on the more expensive side but is a good pint with good choice of beer wine and cider also tea and coffee if you like that kind of thing. Dropped in for lunch without booking and was advised to grab a table as they get busy. Food was good, we had pizzas and I'd say they were more Turkish style, rather than Italian. We enjoyed the meal, but the waitress was very keen to clear our table, plates were taken while still finishing eating and glasses cleared as soon as they were empty. Felt a bit rushed off, despite there being a few spare tables.

Didn't eat here but what I saw looked great. Great location with outside and inside seating. Staff were very friendly. You can buy tea and coffee as well as alcoholic beverages. Clean and tidy environment. The coffee was hot as requested and we really enjoyed it. Bought some local biscuits to bring home. Dog friendly. I would recommend.

The food was absolutely delicious; we literally haven't been able to stop talking about it. Menu was varied and had plenty of options for both vegetarians and meat-eaters, and the price for the quality was great. Portion sizes were big but not too much. Definitely going to return at some point! Vegetarian options: The veggie Sunday roast was incredible.

Great place to come along to when in Saltaire. We called in for food and drinks on a Sunday afternoon. Lots of people were having Sunday roasts, and enjoying them, but we opted for the ploughman's sharing platter. The platter is excellent value for money - just £20. Lots on there to enjoy and all very tasty. Lovely views out the windows across the river and park opposite. If it had been a sunnier day it would be a great spot to sit outside. The pub had lots or alcohol free choices which was great to see. Parking: Right by Salts Mill

Visited on a snowy, freezing cold day, The bar was empty ( it was only nearly lunchtime), but it was lovely and warm, and staff were very welcoming. The place is dog friendly, but the must be on a lead. At that time of day and being empty, there wasn't really much of an atmosphere. But with its location by the river and having food available in the bar and restaurant, I am sure that the place changes considerably. If you want comfortable seats, the bar is not the place to be. The chairs and tables are all of the high type. I didn't go into the restaurant, so I can't comment on that. What did come as a shock was the prices, £26 for 2 beers, a coffee, a wine, and a short! If that's winter prices, I don't dare to wonder what they are on a hot summer day, down there by the river? Needless to say, we only had the one and moved on to somewhere else.

Called in after a day out walking , lovely place with good views of the river and countryside, friendly staff and nice atmosphere,loved the fire for a walm . Ordered the vegetarian roast dinner,which was baked feta with apricot roast,tasted really good ,was spot on for the price.

What a fabulous place. We were there to meet friends earlier in the day and later to have dinner. We booked dinner for 7 people but other friends joined us for drinks and the staff were wonderful friendly and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. Location and views are great and the whole place is clean and well looked after. The food was very good and reasonable prices. We had lots of different dishes, all really tasty and even a sausage on a tray for our dog. Visited The Boathouse with my daughter and granddaughter on a Tuesday afternoon . Difficult getting the pushchair down to entrance die to the stairs . If there was a slope entrance we did not see it . Once inside the staff were great . There's a really good choice of local beers including a couple of Timothy Taylors . Food wise I had the pork pie and mushy peas and we also had a caeser salad. Both very tasty . I recommend a visit to The Boathouse when you are next in Saltaire . Wheelchair accessibility: Not ideal

Was up here for the Saltaire Festival, and this pub was just across the river. It's in an awesome location situated right next to the river and across from a field. Has a lovely outside area with plenty of seating. Staff were friendly and it has a good selection of drinks. They do sell food but I didn't eat here. It does have a little bit of the "chain pub" feel which i am not too keen on but that's more of a personal preference. I would come here more often if I lived in the area if for nothing else than the lovely sound of running water outside from a small nearby waterfall.

Called for lunch and had the steak pie which was honestly the biggest and the best one I have ever had. Excellent service from the young waitress and very reasonable prices. Will definitely visit here again. Would recommend booking a table in advance as it got very busy.

Nice place at the side of the river. Very little parking which is only available on certain days. Parking: Only available on certain days. We had to find council car parks 10 mins walk away.

When booking our table for 4 mentioned we would be having a couple of drinks before ordering food said not a problem. After arriving we got our drinks sat down at our table. After 10 mins they came for our food order, I mentioned we was having a couple of drinks before ordering food, 10 mins later back again saying they want our order they have a booking for 21 who will be ordering food. We said its OK we was ok waiting.We was still waiting for one of our party still to arrive. We was told we had to vacate our table by a certain time was not aware about that when we booked. Felt very uncomfortable and rushed as they kept coming to our table to make us aware, Including the bar man. We was away with 10 mins to spare. Why do they do that we was aware of the time scale after we arrived just let us relax and enjoy that time, that's all I ask.

The Boathouse was packed giving an indication how good this place is. The food ,service was first class.

Came here on a late Saturday afternoon. Had the soup and a salad. Both were delicious.

We had lunch reservation for 16 people on Saturday 28th September. The staff were welcoming, the food and drinks served quickly nothing was a problem. Well done The Boat House.

Lovely riverside establishment, great food, service and really accommodating (was able to fit 17 of us in for lunch and managed to get everything to us we ordered with perfect timing, highly recommend for a quick drink/refreshments or if you are looking for good food!

A really nice pub with great view on the river. I loved the fact you could sit under the tree shade, inside or stand by the river. Great coffee! I was a bit sceptical, but was amazed with the coffee Josh made 🙂

Cozy upscale pub on the Aire River located between the river and the canal, and just across from Salts mill in Saltaire. They have a variety of seating, indoor and patio areas, all with a great view of Roberts park. An excellent place for a romantic date or a casual business meet up. Fabulous desserts...

A little more expensive than pub food but very good quality and ample portions. Also lovely location. We had never before but would definitely return.

Lucky for me I live just a stones throw away from The Boathouse. My visit was on the August Bank Holiday Monday 2024. Not only was it lovely to catch up with my partners brother. But to look out over the river Aire @Roberts Park whilst Saltaire Cricket Club played a cricket match on the very same Park. What's my point am I getting of the point of reviewing The Boat house experience that I had on that day. I guess if I was to bullet point this experience in order to try and get to the point as it were. 1 friendly staff 2 lovely pint well two pints Saltaire Blonde 3 quality food Pie N Peas 4 idyllic location 5 I will be visiting The Bathhouse again 6 I recommend that if you have not frequented The Bathhouse before put it on your list of pubs to visit Wheelchair accessibility: Unfortunately the one thing that does let down The Bathhouse is it's lack of dissabled access

Always enjoy the Boathouse. The food is lovely and the staff are kind and friendly. We've visited twice now for family events and really appreciate the food and the space to enjoy our family get togethers.

Pub/ bar overlooking the river Aire, a few local cask ales and the usual larges. In a nice setting with outdoor area . Worth a look.

Only stopped for a coffee but other people had food & it looked good. Nice view

What a gem of a restaurant on our visit to Saltaire- very friendly staff and the food was delicious. We went for the curries as recommended by the waitress and we even had the chef explaining how he made them - they certainly didn’t disappoint.

A group of 11 of us all had a main course and there was not one complaint. Parking: There is free parking about a quarter of a mile away.

Lovely on a summers evening pints are a little expensive but worth it for the views on an evening 😊

A group of us had been to Salts Mill then to The Boathouse Inn for lunch. Very good menu. No parking as it's near the canal.

I have worked in Saltaire for 23 years and I am ashamed to say that my first visit to the Boathouse was last Friday. It absolutely won't be my last visit. The food was absolutely lovely, between the four of us I had a chargrilled chicken caeser salad, friends had chilli and rice and enormous pizzas (they were given boxes to take the rest home - you need a big appetite!). The lovely young waitress made sure that everything was fine for us and was so friendly and welcoming. See you Friday coming

Food was alright for pub food. Staff are pleasant and good service. A nice place to drink by the river with views of the park.

Punching way above it's weight, this was a lovely pub. It has a local pub feel but the food and beer are great, easily standing shoulder to shoulder with some of the gastro pubs of Leeds. The pie I had seems home made and the beer was lovely, with great table service. We will certainly be coming again.

Excellent food, staff and chilled

It was a little bit cold so bi folding door not open on to the riverside so no real atmosphere. Just a lot of noise and the decor doesn't give ant reference to being nautical quite bland really 🤔 .
